Marcelo Brucy

Acrobat / Dancer

Hailing from the north of Brasil in the Amazon region, Marcelo Brucy is a powerhouse professional acrobat, dancer and bboy known for his explosive, jaw dropping performance style. 

Marcelo was amongst the cast of elite dancers in the official Opening Ceremony for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. He performed at the highest professional level in Rio Carnaval as a dancer in the “comissâo de frente” for the top (Especial) division of the parade, working with renowned choreographer Debora Colker for many years. Marcelo also performed with the exclusive ensemble of dancers in the Fitdance Brasil premio multishow on the major national network, Globo Television. He has performed with some of Brasil’s most famous pop artists including Annita and Nego do Borel and worked with international brands such as Red Bull. 

A professional performing artist since he was 9 years old and commencing his career participating in dance competitions, Marcelo landed his first professional contract with the Compania de Circo (Circus) in Rio de Janeiro. After moving to Rio for this contract at just 16 years old, his talents were immediately recognised and his career took off. 

Marcelo initially came to Australia in late 2017 to perform with a circus show and diversify his performance career and teaching work. Since moving to Sydney in mid 2018, Marcelo has become known for his diverse and outstanding talent.  He is a popular and passionate performing artist and instructor for both adults and kids, teaching Ballroom partner dances, street dances, Brazilian Funk and acrobatics.

Marcelo has been wowing audiences in The Carnaval Experience (Rio Projekt’s stage show) where is also a choreographer for Funk and Capoeira.  He performs at various high profile events in Sydney such as the Ballroom Dinner Dance event, and has been cast in the television commercials and campaigns for brands including the Commonweatlh Bank, Club Lime Gyms and Step One.


Both on stage and on screen Marcelo is a dynamic and versatile artist and a valuable member of the Rio Projekt ensemble.
