Rafael Silva

Rafael is a professional musician from Sao Paulo, Brazil. His love for music began at a young age and he started playing the cavaco when he was just 8 years old. Rafael went on to develop a career in music, playing for various Pagode bands and groups in Sao Paulo. A multi-skilled artist, Rafael also played percussion in Samba schools in Sao Paulo. He has paraded in Sao Paulo Carnaval many times with the bateria of Samba schools including Leandro de Itaquera and Unidos de Guaianases.

With great passion and gratitude, Rafael continues to dedicate himself to the art and culture of Brazilian music in Sydney. He is a passionate and diversely skilled member of the Rio Projekt band and stage show, The Carnaval Experience.
